Workstation discovery – v1910

In this post I am going to explain how to discover workstations within your environment.

To do this we are going to use System Center Configuration Manager v1910.

There are a few ways you can do this, I am going to be using System Discovery.

1. Go to Administration > Hierarchy Configuration > Discovery Methods.

2. Right click Active Directory System Discovery and select Properties.

3. Tick Enable Active Directory System Discovery.

4. Add an Active Directory container to search within.
Add a Path.
Tick Recursively search Active Directory Child containers.
Specify a Discovery Account.

5. Click OK.

6. Right click on the discovery method and select Run Full Discovery Now.

7. This can take a little while but after a period of time you should see devices appear under All Systems within Assets and Compliance > Device Collections.
